Description
Placeography.org was launched by the Minnesota Historical Society in February of this year it's mission was simple, to gather the history of places and to collect memories from those who experienced those places.
To achieve that goal MHS uses a semantic based MediaWiki. However, the key to its success would be not only in it's technology but also how well a community could be created around it.
Using a direct and personal approach to individuals and organizations who have become stakeholders and contributing partners, the Minnesota Historical Society has facilitated the organization of the vibrant Placeography community.
