Sundays Energy is the brainchild of Kai Curry. Deeply interested in renewable energy and sustainable living practices, Kai wanted to do something tangible with his knowledge. He participated in the beginnings of a sustainable community when he helped build a couple off-the-grid cabins.
The next project was a 1976 Mercedes 240D that he converted to run on vegetable-oil. After adapting a school bus to demonstrate Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) use, biodeisel creation was the natural progression. At this point Kai expanded biodiesel production to his garage. Soon Kai found that commercial biodiesel needed to be purchased in bulk to supply the growing demand in the area. In 2004 he founded the Twin Cities Biodiesel Cooperative.
When the direction of the company expanded nationally and more on the support side of things he created Sundays Energy. As Sundays Energy got squeezed out of profitable biodiesel by the "big boys" Kai resorted to doing what he knows best, design and technology.
